between those participating in the 6 billion dollar program at the heart of NCLB.  All this money, time and effort going into the pocket of Bush designed Bush friendly folks, They  have let down low income children. For years now teachers and administrators have been battling the money changers at the school house door of poor children.  Because poor children are the least powerful at protecting they meager resources, their school, they now have had to pay for that by spending years with their head down and bubbling circles while more properous kiddies played in the sun.

    This business of letting "business" people run schools, has failed in the past and will continue to fail but since we are in time of suspended accountability. No one can recoup or redo the damage done.
In spite of the fact that our Sec. Of Education has a conflict of interest given that her spouse is a proponant of school vouchers, the dept of education has released this study point to the utter failure to get real results in reading.   How do they justify spending all this money on pedagogical pratice that real educators do not support? They don' t have to.
     So here we are again another "Katrina" mess only with thousands of young kids "left behind" to fend for themselves with a big old F on their head as failures. But it is partky because there is this attitude that expertise is good for me and mine but you folks don't need it.  Knowledge is valuable and some people get the benefits of that knowledge and expertise but other's don't. Twenty first century thinking for me and mine and nineteenth century for you and yours.   So the little bit of money we set aside for the children of the poorest people in the land get skimmed by the clever Bush selected chronies and then of course gets spent ont the trappings of those well heeled people.
    These  "business  people"  not doubt feel that expertise in the way their clothes is made, their shoes are made, the best hair color and hair expert colorist is something that is of course worth paying for.   Expert hands craft lovely things for people in the "have" position. Expert pilots direct their expertly built planes to there skillfully designed digs and professionaly decorated places where masterfully brew beer and award wining wines are served at meals put together by properly trained chefs.
     But use the professional knowledge of educators to teach poor children how to read, write, learn about their world and get fresh air for healthy bones and muscles,

Grasping raptors of greedy had been allowed to just surround the nation's children and suck the life's blood out of it.
But why am I not surpised, black people drown, pets die, our kids get poisoned, the environment gets worse, our soldiers are treat like scum with sewer crap coming up in their sinks. Abu ghraib........
God, I could go on... but why don't you just add to this by posting what else has gone way south due to policy of awarding positions of important policy to people with

NO EXPERTISE!

Just another heck of a job effort by chronies, whether in the EPA, FEMA, FDA, but we knew that already.
